Dr Jang tries to persuade Hyun Joo to undergo treatment, without which she would die. If he cannot succeed after a month of trying, he will respect her wishes. Hyun Joo finally agrees, on condition that he keeps it a secret from her family.

She loves Do Young very much because he was there for her during the lowest point of her life.

Do Young was certain that Hyun Joo’s shocking confession on the phone earlier had something to do with Da Hye. He does not want them to keep fighting because of her.
Hyun Joo can’t seem to get over the fact that Do Young had married her out of pity. Now that Da Hye has returned for him, perhaps he should just go back to her.
The drama keeps playing up Hyun Joo’s insecurity about Do Young, so what is the story behind it? Hope we do not have to wait until the end for this thorn to be removed. Frankly, does it really matter who he had loved in the past?

Do Young does not want to accept the large sum of money Da Hye had given to his office. Though he personally went to her house to return it, she had sent it back again.

Dr Jang persists in trying to change Hyun Joo’s mind about not seeking treatment for her condition. Unable to take it anymore, she screams at him to just carry out the operation so that he can confirm what he wants to know.

Hyun Joo finally reveals to her dad the confirmation that she has a similar condition as her late mum. Her biggest fear is the likelihood of daughter Saet Byul having it too.

Do Young wants Da Hye to know that whatever had happened between them is in the past and though he had loved her, they cannot start over again.

Da Hye makes a shocking confession that she had an abortion when she had gone overseas, giving the impression that she was carrying his child at that time. Do Young is unsure if she’s telling the truth or trying to make him feel guilty.

The revelation about their past relationship is in bits and pieces so it’s still unclear exactly what had happened between them. Da Hye seems bitter that he had abandoned her and in order for him to make up for it, she would like him to betray Hyun Joo once (passes him her hotel room key) …. to get back at Hyun Joo for stealing him from her.

Do Young is startled to see Hyun Joo behaving strangely at home, sorting out all his clothes. For a moment he is afraid she has lost her mind but his relief turns to shock when she suddenly blurts out that they should go their separate ways.

Since he needs a reason for her wanting a separation and would definitely not agree if it’s because of Da Hye, she lies that it is because she no longer loves him.

For me, this particular scene is one in which Sang Hyun did a great job showing the range of emotion Do Young is going through …. fear, relief, disbelief, sadness, betrayal and anger. Thumbs up.
Hyun Joo must have been so overwhelmed by the emotional upheaval she’s been facing that she collapses after Do Young storms out. Her dad could only try to comfort her as he struggles with his own fear of losing her.

Do Young in pain and despair over Hyun Joo’s wish for a separation.

I’m not sure why Do Young would suddenly decide to look for Da Hye at this moment. Perhaps he thought Da Hye had done something to drive Hyun Joo to make such a decision. During their meeting earlier, Da Hye had made it clear that she is capable of anything. But unfortunately meeting with Da Hye in his drunken state is going to be his undoing.
