With the drama in its final 2 weeks, its pace is finally picking up and I’m looking forward to what will happen next. Now that Do Young knows about her illness, Hyun Joo does not need to hide it from him anymore. These 2 episodes choke me up really bad, especially those scenes of Do Young and Hyun Joo together.
Hyun Joo is planning to go on a trip to Bali and Dr Jang offers to accompany her if she’s not going with anyone. I wonder why she still plans to go to Bali. Since going there together is something special for Do Young and herself, why would she still want to go without him?

Da Hye finally settles the JQ contract with Raymond. Since the chairman had recently passed away, she plans to go to New York to check out his will. She does not intend to let Raymond deprive her of her share.

Do Young had previously made a promise to replace the diamond ring Hyun Joo had sold to support him when he was struggling in his career. Now that he has finally succeeded in getting the contract, he intends to fulfill that promise …. to return what he had given to her.

Do Young hopes they can start all over again but she tells him it would not be fair to Da Hye. She plans to move out in a month’s time when she gets a place.
Sorry if I’m a bit blunt about the script but isn’t this akin to selling Do Young’s soul in exchange for a material gain? If Da Hye had genuinely wanted to help him, it should not be at the expense of their marriage. The more I think about it, the more absurd it now seems.

Their divorce would be final in a month’s time. Do Young wonders why they have ended up this way but he will let her go if this is what she wants. Whether she believes him or not, he had got that contract for her.

Remembering happier times and the promise he had made

Hyun Joo returns the ring as she feels there is no reason for her to receive it and Do Young had bought it with money he has yet to earn. If he still wants to get it for her in future, she will accept it then. But even as she said this, they both know she would not be around in future.

Since today is the only time they have with each other, Hyun Joo wants to tell Do Young what she has been keeping inside her all this time.  If there is anything she wants to say to him, this is her last chance.

She would be leaving for Bali soon and wonders if Do Young would like to go with her.

I’m wondering too why Do Young can’t just say yes. This is his last chance to be with her and it is unlikely that Dr Jang can create a miracle. Since she is asking him, it can only mean that she wants to be with him. If she doesn’t make it, he will never see her again. Sigh, that’s what makes dramas so frustrating sometimes.

It’s finally time to say goodbye but Do Young can only gaze at her wordlessly and watch her walk away.

Hyun Joo suddenly feels unwell and collapses at the bus stop. Perhaps their day together had been too emotionally draining for her.
Hyun Joo is rushed to the hospital. She’s in critical condition and has to be resuscitated. Fortunately she pulls through.

Do Young gazes sadly at the ring Hyun Joo had returned, knowing he would not have another chance to give it to her. It’s really over between them now. With a heavy heart, he flings it into the river.
